Sally Ann Cuthbert, aged 70, passed away peacefully at her home in Pocatello on Tuesday, October 5, 2021. Sally was born on January 13, 1951, to parents Billy and Esther Gribble at Edwards Airforce Base, California. She was the third of four children: Bill, Lori, Sally, and Kathy. She attended high school at Armijo High School in Fairfield, California where she met her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Lance Wayne Cuthbert. They married after high school at the ages of eighteen and seventeen, on November 24, 1970 at the Travis Airforce Base in California. Shortly after they married, they moved to Pocatello, Idaho, and she joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints soon after.
Lance and Sally started their family in 1972 with the birth of their firstborn son David Wayne who passed shortly after birth. In the next couple years, Sally gave birth to her son, Paul Lance, and her daughter Sherry Lyn. Lance joined the Airforce in 1975, and was stationed briefly in Wichita Falls AFB, Texas and then Mountain Home AFB, Idaho. There they had their fourth child, Sylvia Kristie-Ann. Lance left the service in 1979, and their family settled in Pocatello. In the following years, Sally gave birth to four more children: Mindy Maleah, Jeremy Scott, Johnathon Grant, and Lindia Careanna. Her children were the joys of her life.
During their time in Pocatello, Sally worked at various jobs, including: AMI, Fred’s Café, and at Roosevelt and Headstart as a teacher’s aide. She earned her certificates at Idaho State University for Culinary Arts and Nurses Aid. She was a compassionate caregiver for the remainder of her working career.
Sally enjoyed midnight movies at the Reel Theater and yard sale-ing every weekend until the weather turned cold. She never missed an opportunity to attend the Friday Night Auctions. She loved spending time with her family, and her favorite video game was Mario Party. She loved crafting at Relief Society and coloring in coloring books. She enjoyed long car rides and shopping for hours on end. She also loved cooking and baking for her family. She took time to be thoughtful to everyone, and never missed an opportunity to serve others.
She is survived by her husband Lance, her children: Paul, Sherry (Cory), Sylvia, Mindy, Jeremy (Natalie), Johnathon (Kesha), and Lindia (Johnny), her siblings: Bill, Lori (Ron), and Kathy, her mother-in-law Lois, 26 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 1 niece, and 1 nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents: Billy and Esther, father-in-law Gale, sisters-in-law Jeanette and Annette, her son David, brother-in-law Bill, and grandson-in-law Troy.
Her family will be having a memorial service to celebrate her life on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Lakeview Chapel at 1440 Lakeview Drive, Pocatello, Idaho at 11AM, with Manning Wheatley Funeral Home presiding.
