Wilma Phillips Allen

Wilma Phillips Allen, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother went back to live with her Savior and Heavenly Father Thursday, September 21, 2017.  She was born August 29, 1925, in Pocatello, Idaho to Morgan J. Phillips and May Sene Higgins.  She attended grade school at Emerson school.  She then attended Irving Junior High until the eighth grade.  At that time the family moved to Inkom, Idaho.  She graduated from Inkom High School in 1943 at the top of her class.  In high school, she had several  solos in operettas.  She loved school.

She married Alonzo (Al) Robert Allen on October 6, 1945 in Jamestown, New York.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple, May 29, 1963 on Al's and son Richard's birthday.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She served  in many church calling  Also she and her husband served many, many years on the Sealing team at the Idaho Falls Temple. She loved her Temple work, quilting, and teaching.  She made beautiful quilts for all her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.  Most of all, her first love was her husband of  73 years, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Al , three sons, and one daughter. Gary Robert, Richard Ray, Steven Roger, Holly Gayle. Twelve grandchildren,  Twenty Two great grandchildren; two brothers: William (Bill) , Ridge, and one sister; Dorothy. .

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Church on South Grant.  The family will meet with friends on Monday evening Sept. 25, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave. and on Tuesday one hour prior to services at the church.  Interment will be in the Inkom Cemetery.  Funeral arrangements are under the care of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel.
