William B. Barrett

William Bernell Barrett, 75, passed away on October 3, 2014 at Monte Vista Hills Healthcare Center as the result of a Brain Tumor. He was born March 11, 1939, in Idaho Falls, a son of Afton Barrett and Lola Barrett.

During his early years he lived in Ammon, Shelly, Tremonton, UT, and Park City,UT. At the age of 14 he moved to Pocatello where he attended school. At Pocatello High School he played on the Basketball team and was elected Student Body President. He graduated from Pocatello High School. He attended ISU's Vocation Technical School prior to serving Mission to the South German Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. After his return he was frequently called upon to apply his well developed technical skills to repair electrical devices all across Pocatello. He provided daily care for his Mother as she developed Alzheimer's disease until her death. In 1988 he returned to Idaho State University ti get his degree in Elementary Education. He graduated in 1991 and served as a substitute teacher at almost every school in Pocatello for nearly 20 years, an experience that he truly loved. In his personal life, he loved playing basketball, riding his bicycle, and walking. He also loved providing service to neighbors and the elderly.

He is survived by his Sister, JoAnn Sharar of Palm Desert, California and his Brother, Dennis Lee Barrett of Denver, Colorado.

A Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday October 18, 2014 in Mountain View Cemetery section 54 E.
