Warren Franklin Jones

Warren Franklin Jones Santa Monica, CA. - Warren Franklin Jones, 86, of Los Angeles CA. and formerly of Inkom, Idaho passed away late Sunday, November 18, 2007 at St. Johns Hospital in Santa Monica following an illness. He was born December 13, 1920 in Soda Springs, Idaho a son of Harry Reeder Jones and Berth Rast Jones. When he was very young his family moved to Inkom where he attended schools and graduated from Inkom High School. He then attended the University of Idaho Southern Branch (now ISU)and was in the Pharmacy School. On August 22, 1941 he married Alice Belle Chandler in Blackfoot, Idaho. She passed away June 10, 1999.

His schooling was interrupted during World War II as he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a flight instructor. He always loved flying and and following the war he flew for TWA and continued flying and being involved in civil aviation. He owned his own plane and also had a glider he enjoyed flying. He and Alice made their home in Van Nuys, California for 33 years and then in Glendale, California for 16 years. Warren was very successful as owner operator of of a specialty glass company manufacturing windows for recreational vehicles. His interests were flying and traveling the world over. He was very generous and he and Alice helped many people in need over the years.

Survivors include: a daughter, Kitty Jones, Los Angeles,CA.: 2 sisters, Leah Brewington, Firth, Idaho and Evelyn Zielinski, Chicago, IL.. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a son Brian.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November, 27, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Inkom L.D.S. Church with Bishop David Hunt, officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Inkom Cemetery with military graveside rites provided by the Pocatello Veterans Honor Guard. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave.
