Walker Junior Stumbo

Walker Junior Stumbo, 76, passed away June 19, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer. Walker was born June 18, 1940, the fifth of 9 children in Justell, Kentucky, to Walker L. and Cinda (Newsom) Stumbo.
In 1944, he moved to Pocatello, Idaho, where he resided all of his life. He attended Pocatello High School and graduated in 1959.
In 1962, he was drafted into the United States Army, serving in Korea and was honorably discharged. In 1965, he married his sweetheart Lydia Christine Johnson and together they have 3 children, Todd, Heidi and Jennifer.
He worked for 37 years at FMC, retiring in 2001. Later that year he received a special Christmas gift, his best friend Sammy, pictured above.
His hobbies and interests included bowling, fishing, hunting, and camping. He played the guitar and had a beautiful singing voice. Walker was quite the character. He loved to tease and make people laugh. He had a great sense of humor and had a great effect on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Walker also loved baseball, football, playing slot machines, going for walks, making his yard beautiful, and going to the Lava hot pools every week for nearly 20 years. He was always helping people, and he was the best story teller ever! Walker loved his family dearly. His kids and grandkids were the light of his life. Walker was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Christine, son Todd (Catherine) Stumbo, daughters Heidi Stumbo and Jennifer (Bob) Kelley, 14 grandchildren 6 great-grandchildren, 4 sisters and 2 brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and 3 brothers-in-law.
Funeral services will be Friday June 24th at 11 a.m. at Manning Wheatley Funeral Chapel 510 N. 12th Ave.  The family will recieve friends one hour prior to services.  Interment will be in Mountainview Cemetery
