Vincent “Mike” Michael Sanders

Vincent Michael Sanders, 63, passed away in his home surrounded by family on Sunday, February 20, 2022 after a valiant fight with Multiple Systems Atrophy.  He entered the world on August 26, 1958 to Don and Margaret Sanders in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Mike attended high school in Boise and graduated in 1976.  He went to Boise State to get an Engineering degree, but lost interest when he started working in Crime Prevention for Grand Central.  As he met and worked with Law Enforcement officers, he knew the path he wanted to take.  He worked for the Bannock County Sheriff's Office for 28 years and loved his "second family".  He made good friends and earned the respect of the people he worked and associated with.

Mike met and fell in love with his sweetheart, Pam Briggs, while working together at the Bannock County Sheriff's Office.  They were married on December 30, 1984, and later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple.  They had five beautiful children who completed their family.

Mike was a city boy, but he and his wife decided to give the farm life a try.  He moved his family to Marsh Valley where they raised chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, pigs, and horses.  He developed a love for pug dogs and tolerated Pam's love for cats.. He worked hard to create a beautiful country home.

Mike enjoyed golfing, hiking, camping, shooting, riding his motorcycle, and everything outdoors.  His dream when he retired was to own a corvette.  He was an overachiever and purchased two corvettes which he pampered daily.  He even had a shop built to keep them protected from the elements.

Mike had a strong testimony of our Savior and enjoyed his membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  He recently served in the Bishopric of the McCammon Ward and loved the good men he worked with and the members of the ward.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents and nephew - Troy Griggs.  He is survived by his wife - Pamela, his children - Dustin (Michelle), Derek, Breanne Birch, Rylie (Andrea), and Bradlee (Kyah), nine grandchildren, his sister - Donetta Sanders , and brother - Richard Sanders.  Mike was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Mike touched many lives.  He was a very special man and was loved by those who knew him.  Mike, you will always be in our hearts and will be truly missed.

The family will receive friends at a viewing on Feb. 24, 2022 from 6-8pm at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Home in Pocatello.  An additional viewing will be held from 1-2pm with the service following at the McCammon Stake Center (403 W. 16th St.).  Burial will be in the Inkom Cemetery.
