Vicki Jo Gates Welker

Vicki Gates Welker left her earthly body on Wednesday, September 2, to join her Mother and Father and loved ones on the other side.

She was born in Pocatello, Idaho, on June 8, 1955. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.

She is survived by her husband Robert and daughters Crystal Dillion (Dan) and Cora Anderson (Brett) and her son Patrick Gates (Joni). She is also survived by her precious grandchildrena�"Damon, Constance, DantAC., Cassitti, Braeden, Elijah, Bailee, Makiah and Skyler, her brothers Steve and Tom and sisters LuAnn, Jana and Tina, many nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as her two special pugs Molly and Chloe. She was preceded in death by her Mother (Ruth) and Father (Harold) and her sweet baby brother Mitchell.

Vicki will always be remembered for her heart of gold. She loved her family very much and she enjoyed entertaining at home.

She always had a special place in her heart for hurt animals and lost children. Throughout the years the house was filled with the laughter of children and one or two that needed a place to staya�"she gave her love freely to them. It wasn't unusual to find various animals taking up residence in her home that needed the special care and love only she could provide. One particular bird, Jeremy the Crow, had a broken wing and he learned to compensate by hopping from cabinet to cabinet in her home.

We have lost a very special person in our lives and we are sad to see her go. We long to talk with her just one more time and tell her just how much we love her. We are sure; however, that she knows and that she is looking down on us right now with so much pride at the strength and courage of her beautiful children and grandchildren. We wish you rest, sweet Vicki, until we see you again.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the City of Pocatello Animal Shelter.

A celebration of Vicki's life will be held on Friday September 4, 2015 at 4 pm at 4815 Mohawk Dr. (off of Bannock Hwy)
