On March 3, 2016, Vaughn passed away at his home in Pocatello, Idaho. He was 75 years old. Vaughn was born on September 5, 1940 in Tremonton, Utah to Elvan George and Elva Lucille Baird Korth. He is the third oldest of four children. He grew up in Tremonton, graduated from Bear River High School, and attended college at Brigham Young University. When he returned from his LDS mission to New Zealand he met his wife JoLayne Palmer.
They were married June 14, 1963 for time and all eternity in the Logan Temple. Vaughn worked for over 25 years for the JCPenney Company beginning as a department manager and working his way up to a store manager. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved visiting the Oregon coast and Grand Teton National Park. As a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints he served in many capacities with the church. We will all miss him greatly but know that he is having a joyous reunion with his parents.
Vaughn is survived by his wife of 52 years JoLayne Palmer Korth; their children: Elvan (Stacey), James (Shannon), Byran (Sheia), and Deborah Jackson (Christian); his siblings: Moana Boyle, Gary Korth, and JoAnn Allen, as well as 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Elvan George Korth (1944) and Elva Lucille Baird Korth (1995).
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the L.D.S. Highland 3rd Ward (Butte & Hiskey) The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave. and on Tuesday one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at 4:00 p.m. in Riverview Cemetery, Tremonton, Utah.
