Stanley Earl Bullock

Stanley Earl Bullock was born June 27, 1928 in Readyville, an area west of McCammon along Marsh Creek Road in Bannock County in Idaho. He was born in the family home to Willard and Mabel Barrow Bullock. He was the ninth of ten boys born in the family.

He attended the first two grades in a two-room school in Readyville. The following year they consolidated the school into McCammon where he continued his education through graduation in 1946. His graduation class consisted of 13. College proved too costly at the time so he employed at Union Pacific Railroad and worked 13 years in Wyoming, Oregon, and Idaho. He enjoyed the hard work but not the travel so when the opportunity presented itself to work in Inkom, Idaho at the Cement plant he made the move. He worked the next 30 years until retiring in 1989.

Stanley and Louise enjoyed the years in Inkom as they raised their family and were active in the community and Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. They completed their family with Lou Ann, Kenneth, David, Alan, and Dean joining them in their home. Stanley enjoyed working in the church and held many positions through the years.

When the freeway came through the village of Inkom, housing became limited and they decided to return to McCammon where they lived throughout the rest of the life. They helped in the Cub Scouts, PTA, and serving others for many years through various position in the church.

Dad and mom loved to sing and dance. They helped teach many youth the various dances of the era while enjoying weekly square dancing with couples from the valley.

After retiring and overcoming health issues, Stanley and Louise served for years in the Idaho Falls temple researching theirgenealogy and family history for many ancestors. They decided rocking chairs wasn’t their style and decided to serve missions in Richmond, Virginia and Palmyra, New York.

Stanley enjoyed yard work as long as he was able to do the work. He loved to bake bread and deliver it to those who needed encouragement and visits from them. They hardly missed a funeral or wedding reception for years. They knew the names of all the grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great greats.

They recently celebrated 75 years of marriage before Louise decided it was time to rest and passed away in June of 2024. She joined Lou Ann who left them prematurely to prepare a place in heaven for them. Dad has been counting the days until he could join all his family, mom’s family, and all his friends from his generation. Because of declining health and mobility, they have spent the last 5 years in Pocatello in an assisted living home where they brightened the life of the residents with their smiles, singing, and friendship. Stanley finally joined Louise January 18, 2025 where they will dance forever together. Funeral service will be held in McCammon at the church under the direction of Manning Wheatley Funeral Home at 12 noon on Wednesday January 22, with viewing at 10:30am until 11:45am. Burial will be at the Norton Cemetery in McCammon following the service.

Their family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude for the kindness and service of the staff of Brookdale, Pocatello and Enhabit. They truly are angels here on earth and made mom and dad enjoy the last days of their lives.
