Pocatello- Shirley G. Hoskins, 79, joined her husband, Dale, on Wednesday January 22, 2014. She passed away at Portneuf Medical Center with family by her side.
She was born March 28, 1934, in Kimberly, Idaho, the daughter of Raymond and Helen B. Marlin Pennington. She attended schools in Hansen, Idaho and graduated from Hansen High School.
On December 13, 1953, she married Dale Hoskins in Yuma, Arizona. Dale passed away May 13, 2010. Following her marriage to Dale, they lived in Long Beach, California where Dale was stationed with the U.S.Navy. Following Dale's discharge, they moved to Pocatello where they raised their family.
Dale and Shirley worked together as long-haul truckers for 15 years. Shirley attended the Central Christian Church.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include, a son, Kent (Sylvia) Hoskins, Idaho Falls, Idaho; a daughter, Lisa (Forrest) Richardson, Pocatello, Idaho; 2 brothers, Scott Reynolds, Nampa, Idaho; Shane (Cynthia) Reynolds, Nampa, Idaho; 3 grandchildren, Brandon (Melissa), Jennifer, Dominque, 4 great-grandchildren, Brandon, Boe, Bree and Grace.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son Cory and brother Steven Reynolds.
Memorial Services for Shirley to be attended by family and friends will be held at a later date and will be announced in a future edition of the Idaho State Journal.
Arrangements are under the care of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave.
