Sherlin Louise (Winthers) Lewis was born July 24, 1936 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Barney and Margaret Winthers. She moved with them to Pocatello, ID in 1938 for her father's new job with the railroad. As a child growing up she loved to roller skate, played in the canals with her best friend Lupe Rodriguez and loved horses but her allergies prevented her from becoming a true horsewoman. She attended Lincoln Elementary and Irving Junior High, she also attended Beauty School.
She was introduced to her future husband Larry by his best friend Lamar Smith at Lamar's 16th Birthday Party held at Anderson's Dairy in Pocatello. It was Love at first site and later she'd told Sister Carol "I'm going to marry that man". They were married July 31, 1954 and had four children; Becky, Michael, Robert, and Maggie.
Sherlin and kids followed Larry's work career throughout the Northwest and California, finally settling back in Pocatello. She worked at Skyline (what is now Safe Haven Assisted Living Center) and until she retired always gave 110% to her patients, staff, and work and they loved her.
She was an avid bowler; an exceptional archer. She enjoyed motorcycle riding and she and Larry were members of Pocatello Motorcycle Club. She loved to crochet and was also a gifted quilter.
She most enjoyed spending time with her family, to whom she dedicated her life.
Sherlin is survived by Children; Becky (Wayne) Nelson, Robert Lewis, Maggie Lewis. Sisters; Carol (Lamar) Smith and Marilyn (Leo) Otero. Several Grandchildren and Step-Grandchildren and two Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her Parents; husband Larry, son Michael and daughter-in-law Sandy.
