Sheldon Lee Ward

This was not supposed to happen this soon but apparently I have passed away. I fought against it as hard as I could but once again, I didn’t get my way. So here we go..

It’s with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of a remarkable man, who left the world on October 19th, 2023. Sheldon Lee Ward, 76, passed away suddenly from cardiac arrest while doing what he loved, watching his grandson’s football game, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and countless cherished memories. Sheldon was born in Pocatello, Idaho on April 28, 1947 to Lee and Melba Ward. He was married to Barbara Shaffer on April 26, 1968. Sheldon was a beacon of light in the lives of all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him. His warm smile, blue eyes, and gentle demeanor left an memorable mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know him. Sheldon had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel seen, heard, and loved, and his genuine compassion extended to people from all walks of life.

Throughout his life, Sheldon was a devoted family man. As a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, he understood the importance of nurturing strong, loving relationships. His unwavering support, encouragement, and presence provided a solid foundation for his loved ones to grow and flourish. Together we have all created lifelong memories that will be treasured forever.

Professionally, Sheldon’s unwavering work ethic helped to pursue his passions with great enthusiasm, determination and sometimes a little anger. His exceptional skills in knowing everything earned him the admiration, love, and respect from everyone. Beyond all of that, he was always ready to lend a working hand without question.

A lover of nature, Sheldon found solace in the great outdoors whether it was hiking, hunting, snowmobiling, riding ATVs, boating, or exploring the wonders of the world with his family. Sheldon's pride and joy were definitely his five beautiful daughters, LeeAnn, Tamara, Kim, Bobbi, and Ashley, his 17 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Sheldon's deep appreciation for his family and life’s simple pleasures served as a constant reminder to others to slow down, breathe, and find joy in the present moment.

Sheldon's passing leaves an immense void in the lives of his family and friends, who will always remember him with love.
