Pocatello - Sefa Sorensen McDaniel was born July 21, 1918 in Logan, Utah and passed away in Pocatello, Idaho on March 5, 2012 at the age of 93. She was born to Margaret Kington and Hans Sorensen Jr. She was the 6th of 8 children.
When she was 6 years old, the family moved to a farm in Tyhee, Idaho where she spent countless hours working for her father and neighbors in the potato and beet fields.
On July 3, 1937, she married Lavon Walter McDaniel in Pocatello where they made their home. She graduated from beauty school shortly afterwards.
She was blessed with 2 children, Geraldine (Jeri) McDaniel and 9 years later Jody Lavon McDaniel.
She worked at the East Idaho Brewing Company for 10 years and at Jones Furniture Co. for a few years demonstrating the iron-rite. She liked to dance and enjoyed gardening. She was a spotless housekeeper and a hard worker. She and Jeri spent many hours working on jigsaw puzzles.
She is preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters, her husband in 1978, a daughter Jeri in 2001, and a granddaughter. Sefa is survived by her son Jody (Lisa) McDaniel of Buhl, Idaho, 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Saturday March 10, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Mountainview Cemetery (28 West). Funeral arrangements are under the care of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave.
