Ruth Neilson Millward

Pocatello- Ruth R. Neilson Millward, 98, formally of Pocatello, Idaho, passed away Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011 in Preston, Idaho at the Heritage Care Center. She was loving care for by her daughter, Marlene for eight years.

She was born February 9, 1913, at Fairview, Wyoming, the daughter of Charles and Mary Alzina Harmon Ranzenberg. She attended schools in Star Valley, Wyoming. She married Leland James Neilson on Sept. 18, 1929 in the Logan Utah L.D.S. Temple. Leland passed away on Feb.14, 1962. She married Joy B. Millward on July 15, 1976. Joy passed away on November 15, 2001.

She lived in Star Valley where her husband was a rancher, trucker, and timber man. After her first husband's death in 1962, she moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where she worked at the Beehive Clothing as a seamstress for 14 years. She then moved to Pocatello after her marriage to Joy B. Millward in 1976. She was active in the L.D.S. Church. She served as counselor in the Primary, was Sunday School Secretary, served in Relief Society, visiting teaching and visiting teaching supervisor. She was an officiator in the Idaho Falls Temple for over six years.

She was a wonderful mother and a friend to all. She was always positive about everybody and everything. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Ruth is survived by two sons, Gary L.(Bonnie) Neilson, Blairsden, California; Royal W. (Nancy) Neilson, Kemmerer, Wyoming; one daughter, Marlene Bajoros, Downey, Idaho; two step-daughters, Dee Anna (Richard) Lewis; Karen Lu (D.J.) Sorenson; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; step-grandchildren; step-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leland; husband, Joy; her parents; 1 son, Paul M. Neilson; son-in-law, Steven Bajoros; 1 step-daughter, Jennifer Probart; 1 step-son, Dennis J. Millward; 1 brother, 4 sisters.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 16, 2011 at 12:00 Noon at the Fairview Ward Chapel, 3166 St. Hwy. 241 in Osmond, Wyoming with Bishop Mike McBride officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Afton Cemetery, Afton, Wyoming.
