Robert Ross Bloxham

Pocatello - Robert Ross Bloxham, 80, of Pocatello, passed away Sunday, afternoon April 5, 2009 at a local medical center following an illness.

He was born April 12, 1928 in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, a son of John Merle and Linda Verana Godfrey Bloxham.

He attended schools in Lava Hot Springs and Pocatello. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1948 and served in the Korean War with the Army Corps of Engineers Construction Battalion, where he was wounded and received the Purple Heart.He received an Honorable Discharge with permanent disability from his wounds.

On March 15, 1952, he married Janet K. Jones in Pocatello. They lived in American Falls, Idaho for 20 years and have lived North of Pocatello since 1990.

When he was younger, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also liked being out doors and four-wheeling. He was a member of the L.D.S. Church. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

Robert is survived by his wife, Janet K. Bloxham, Pocatello; 4 sons, John Bloxham, Rick (Sue) Bloxham, Robert (Mitzi) Bloxham, all of Pocatello; Anthony (Colene) Bloxham, Chubbuck, Idaho; a daughter, Jetta Bloxham, Pocatello, 3 brothers, Tom (Betty) Bloxham, Bill Bloxham, Gary (Marla) Bloxham, all of Pocatello; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, 3 brothers, a daughter, Debra, a son Michael and a granddaughter Christina.

Private family services will be held at a later date at one of the beautiful out door places that Robert enjoyed. Arrangements are under the direction of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave.
