Rebecca Weaver

Virginia, Idaho - Rebecca Lorraine Weaver, 88, passed away on January 14, 2009 at her daughters home in Virginia, Idaho.

Rebecca Lorraine Coambs was born November 13, 1920. She spent her early years in Canada - moving to the United States after she married the love of her life, James Melvin Weaver on August 17, 1946 in Vera Cruces New Mexico. She became a naturalized citizen on April 19, 1956.

Rebecca died following complications related to a fall just prior to Christmas. She was residing with her daughter, Jaimie Stuart at the time of her death in Virginia Idaho.

Rebecca was a proud mother of 6 children (four sons and 2 daughters.) 20 Grandchildren and 35 Great-Grandchildren.

As a result of Jim's work as line foreman for various telephone companies, Rebecca and their two oldest children traveled with him wherever they went. Rebecca always laughed about the spectacle they must have been when people saw them coming pulling an airstream trailer, 3 horses in their 2 ton dual axel truck, 2 dogs, 1 cat and 1 rabbit. Their nomadic life ended when they pulled into southeastern Idaho and decided that was where they wanted to put down stakes. They started out in Bancroft, Idaho and moved to Virginia Idaho around 1964.

A highlight in Rebecca's life was the day she was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on March 25, 1951. Her little family went to the Logan Temple to be sealed on February 11, 1952.

Rebecca served joyously in many capacities in her ward. She loved the youth, the outdoors, loved to horseback ride, loved to read (prior to losing her eyesight) Her great capacity for loving others has brought her great joy and a following of true friends.to Samuel F. Coambs and Gertrude Rebecca Robbins in Vegreville, Alberta, Canada. She was the 6th of 7 children. She had two sisters and 4 brothers.

She is survived by her oldest and favorite brother Herbert Donald Coambs, Edmonton Alberta, Canada. Her 3 sons Gerald M. Weaver (Margo Senn) Salt lake City, UT, Wilton O. Weaver, Arizona, Gary O. Weaver (Karen Loveland) Magnolia, Texas and her daughter Jaimie Weaver Stuart (Lamar Stuart) Virginia, Idaho.
