Rayola Jessie Moriarty

Rayola Jessie Buck Moriarty passed away Saturday, November 29, 2014 at a local care center from complications of lymphoma.

Rayola was born March 5, 1933 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the oldest child and first of seven daughters born to Harry Raymond Buck and Zenora Elaine Christensen. She was raised in Salt Lake and attended West High School. She married John Henry "Jack" Moriarty Jr. on the 19th of June 1954 in South Salt Lake City. Rayola and Jack and their family resided in the Salt Lake area for a number of years. They left Salt Lake around 1960, spending their remaining years in South Central and Southeastern Idaho, where they made many cherished friendships which have continued through the years. Jack passed away in 1998.

Rayola learned to work hard at a very young age. She was an accomplished cook and did a remarkable job of helping to provide for her family. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and relied on her faith to sustain her during many trials in her life. She enjoyed doing family history work until her health would no longer allow it. She also enjoyed gardening, camping, journal writing, and coin collecting.

The greatest love of her life was her children and grandchildren who will truly miss her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant daughter, two infant siblings, a grandson, and two adult sisters, Nancy and Margie. She is survived by her children, Irene (Richard) Montague of Albany, Oregon; Cindy Moriarty of Aurora, Colorado; John of Pocatello; Tony (Dee) of Twin Falls, and a foster son Bill (Mary) Maughan of Rigby. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and siblings, Pauline (Ernest) Spirz, Lynn (Marsha) Buck, Dorene (Larry) Colledge and Maylene (Gary) Perkins.
