Pocatello - Paul Williams, 79 passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, July 10th, 2011.
He was born on October 5th, 1931 in Ontario, Oregon to Richard Lee and Enza Fern Christensen Williams. Paul grew up in Ontario Oregon, Portland Oregon and Paris Idaho. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1950 where he served honorably on the USS Wiseman as a Gunners Mate.
He married his sweetheart, Maureen Stone on March 29, 1957 in Pocatello Idaho. They later were sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple on August 24, 1975. Paul was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he served in various callings, his favorite being an officiator at the Idaho Falls Temple.
He was employed at FMC Corp. for 33 years. Paul enjoyed fishing at Mackay, reading, and golf. He enjoyed being involved in his grandchildren activities and lives. Paul especially loved traveling with his wife. Paul and Maureen were avid fans of ISU football and basketball.
Paul is survived by his wife of 54 years, Maureen Stone Williams. His two daughters, Natalie Diane Barfuss and Paula Marie Williams. His grandchildren; Jacob Brock Barfuss (Erin), Chase Williams Barfuss, Victor Gunnar Barfuss, Derrick Craig Delaney (Ashley), Madison Diane Delaney,. His great-grandchildren Jordan Linda Ann and Teagan Camilla Hope Delaney and Damien Jericho Paul Torres. Also surviving Paul are: Three brothers, Walter, Willard and Robert Williams and two sisters Mary Ann Reddish and Anna Bell Teuscher.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents a brother Lee Richard Jr. and also his son in law, J. Brock Barfuss. His family would like to give a special thanks to Creekside Hospice and Dr. Mark Benson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday July 22, 2011 in the Foothill Ward L.D.S. Chapel (225 Oakwood Drive) with Bishop Chad Nielsen officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening July 21, 2011 at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel 510 N. 12th Ave. from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Friday the day of services from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Mountainview Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites provided by the Pocatello Veterans Honor Guard. Arrangements are under the care of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel.
