Patricia Ann Newton, 90, passed away Saturday June 24, 2017 in Pocatello, Idaho. She was born July 11, 1926 to Phobe F. Adams Massey and Robert Massey. Patricia was active in the LDS church and had a big heart. She was extremely kind and caring. She enjoyed making dolls and giving toys to the needy each Christmas. As a young woman, she helped her parents run a small town newspaper. She was always full of fun and smiles.
She met George Edward Newton at the Delta Skating Rink which back then was a dance hall. She told her friends , see that man there, I’m gonna marry him some day. It was love at first sight. They were married Sept. 1, 1949. Together for 59 years until George’s passing in 2008. They have two daughters, Alice Ann (Steve) Crockett; Betty Kutch. She had a love for animals and leaves behind a dog named “Scrappy” which she loving called “Crappy Scrappy.” She lived with her daughter Betty until her health declined and moved to Caring Hearts.
The family would like to thank Amber and the staff at Caring Hearts Assisted living and Trevor with Encompass Hospice for their exceptional care they gave to Pat.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George; her parents; many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. She is survived by her daughters, Alice Ann (Steve) Crockett; Betty Kutch. 4 grandsons, Steven Crockett Jr. (Cathy); Justin Crockett; Zachary Jake (Sarah) Kutch; Derrick Jordan Kutch; great grandson Archer Bailey Crockett; and her dog Scrappy.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Restlawn Memorial Gardens with Bishop Ryan Lewis officiating. The family will meet with friends on Wednesday at 12 noon at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave.
