Nathan Dean Hill passed away surrounded by those he loved on Sunday, January 24, 2016. Nate was born on August 29, 1937. He was the third child of Russell and Elda Hill. He was raised in Driggs, Idaho until he was seven when both his mother and father died leaving five young children. He moved to his Grandmother Clarissa Berger's home in Victor, Idaho. She loved him and cared for him and he loved her.
He graduated from Teton High School in 1955. He moved to Idaho Falls and became involved in building, showing and racing cars. He held many track records and won best of show with his beautiful blue car "The Tinkertoy".
In May of 1958 he married his sweetheart, Karen Blanchard. They moved to Pocatello to be closer to his brother Kay whom he looked up to. Nate and Karen have four children. Kara Jo, Heidi, Wynn and Lana
Nate worked at the INL Site, and as a designer/draftsman for Nielson Engineering and ESA. He owned Nate's Lighting and Fireplace Shoppe on Pole Line Road for twenty years. He was a craftsman. He could solve any electrical, plumbing, or building problem. He has remodeled and restored many buildings and homes.
Nate served on the School Board for School District 25 for nine years.
Nate was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in various callings, including Bishop. His favorite callings were with the youth. He was a builder of men and influenced many young men through Scouting, sports and the gospel.
His greatest accomplishment was his family. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Karen. His four children, Kara Jo (Blane) Johnson, Logan, Utah, Heidi (Todd) Payne, Pocatello, Wynn (Desarie) Hill, Rexburg and Lana (Mark) Gibson, Pocatello. Twenty-five Grandchildren and fourteen Great-grandchildren. His brothers and sisters Annette (Wayne) Clark, Kay (Deanna) Hill, Lanae (Dennis) Dye and Eldan (Shellie) Hill.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 11:00am in the LDS Cedar Chapel, 550 W. Cedar Street. Bishop Mark Gibson Officiating. Viewing Wednesday evening from 6 to 8pm at the Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Avenue and one hour prior to services on Thursday. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
