Nancy Lee Hooper 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at her daughter's home surrounded by her children. She fought a valiant 17-year battle with breast cancer.
Nancy lived life to the fullest! She was a life long SF Giants & 49er fan. She was an accomplished artist and engaged in every medium of arts and crafts. She loved to travel and cherished the time spent traveling with her grandchildren throughout the US and Europe. She enjoyed her association with her PEO sister's. She had many wonderful friends whom she appreciated spending time with. She had an incredible work ethic and continued working until recently.
She was born in Hazel Park MI and moved to Hillsborough, CA when she was twelve. She graduated from Burlingame High School in 1954. She married Benton Hooper and moved to San Jose CA where they had four children and later divorced. After she retired she moved to Pocatello, ID, where she lived until her death.
Nancy is preceded in death by her son Paul Hooper and her parents Neal and Mildred Nelson. She is survived by her daughter's Lesa (Rick) Nieri, Gilroy, CA; Tracy (David) Mugleston, Syracuse, UT; Marilyn (Kary) Lewis, Pocatello, ID; and daughter-in-law Cynthia (Gabriel) Garcia, Chicago, IL. Grandchildren: Maria Hooper, Nathaniel (Katie) Nieri, Alexandra Nieri (Derek Boynton), Emily (Bill) Bowers, Tyler (ChanteA�) Lewis, Andrew (Kara) Mugleston, Cameron (Amy) Lewis, Jacob Garcia, Ellen Lewis, Becky Mugleston, Steven Mugleston, and Matthew Lewis. Great grandchild: Wyatt Lewis. Siblings: Noel Nelson, St. George, UT; Debra Taylor, Lewiston, UT; Ellison James, Lake Stevens, WA.
Nancy's family would like to thank all those who helped care for her especially the Access Hospice staff.
A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on December 13, 2014, in Pocatello ID.
