Nada Jean Gates Collins Madrid, 90, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the Gateway Nursing Home surrounded by her family. She was born December 22, 1927 in Soda Springs to Eugene Emmett Gates and Petra Jensina Pederson Gates. She was the youngest of eight children. Nada grew up in Meadowville, Idaho near Soda Springs. Nada married Joseph Collins January 27, 1943 together they had six children, they were later divorced. Then she married Lewis Madrid and they had three children. They were later divorced.
Nada worked at Lamb Western in American Falls for many years until she retired. Nada is survived by a son Lenrie (Joyce) Collins of Bancroft; Nadine Keuhler of Pocatello; Emmett (Virginia) Collins of Grace; Allen (Michelle) Collins of Pocatello; Tim Madrid of New Mexico; Judy Madrid of American Falls. She was preceded in death by three children: Dennis Deray Collins; Russell Dennis Collins; Tony Madrid. She was also preceded in death by all of her siblings: Nathan Eugene Gates; Cecil Artell Gates; Christine Olive; Ferris James Gates; Aha Allen Gates; Hattie Eulala Whitlock; Fola Petra Atkins.
Nada has 14 grandchildren; 72 great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 11:00 am at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave. The family will meet with friends at 10:30 prior to service time.
