Chubbuck - Myrle E. Roeder, 90, longtime resident of Tyhee area and Chubbuck, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2008 in Boise, Idaho, where she had lived for the past 2 months following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born March 13, 1918, in Chilly, Idaho (near Salmon), a daughter of Hyrum Edward and Naoma Rosaline Johns Ingram. As a young girl, she attended schools in Tyhee and Pocatello High School. On April 8, 1939, she married Leland F. Roeder, in Pioche, Nevada. They later divorced. She was a member of the L.D.S. Church and had been active in Relief Society. She liked growing flowers and especially loved her African violets and roses. She also liked playing pinochle and belonged to several pinochle clubs. She enjoyed going to the Classic Car Club shows and meetings. She was a past member of the Portneuf Grange and had served as an officer in various positions with the Grange.
Survivors include: 2 sons, John (Judy) Roeder, Pocatello; James "Jim" (Dori) Roeder, Boise, Idaho; a sister, Ruby Robison, Pocatello; 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 16, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave. with Bishop David L. Sorensen, of the Chubbuck 12th Ward officiating. Interment will be in Mountainview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel and Friday for one hour prior to services.
