Michael L. Hanson

Pocatello - Michael L. Hanson, 58, of Pocatello, passed away suddenly at the Pocatello Recreation Center on Monday, afternoon May 19, 2008. He was born October 7, 1949 in Pocatello, Idaho, a son of Raymond L. and Rae Louise Parker Hanson.

He attended elementary schools in Pocatello and Sunnyside, Washington and graduated from Sunnyside High School in 1967. He then attended Washington State University and received a BA degree. He married Sallie Sederstrom in McCall, Idaho and they later divorced. He lived in Pullman, Washington; Moscow, Idaho; Pasco, Washington; Yakima, Washington and returned to Pocatello in about 1988. He worked for several years as a volunteer for CASA. He enjoyed music, the outdoors and all types of exercising at the gym and pool.

Survivors include: his mother, Rae Louise Thomas, Bremerton, Washington; a brother, John Kris (Tracey) Thomas, Ephrata, Washington. He was preceded in death by his father and step-father. Private memorial services for Michael will be held at a later date in Western Washington State. Arrangements are under the direction of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave.
