We never went hungry he and Shirley could cook up a mean dutch oven dinner to feed an army. At the time of his death he was the acting Mayor of Crockettville Spring Creek, Salmon, Idaho. He loved his family and spending time with them.
He had several callings in the LDS church. He completed 3 missions and was ordained a high priest. Merlin was a Sunday school president, a second counselor in the Elder’s Quorum, and an Elder’s Quorum teacher. Church was an important part of his life and a place where he made many friends.
