Melanie Ann Millard, 84, passed away on January 9, 2025. She was born on December 29, 1940 in San Antonio, Texas, where she grew up and spent most of her younger years.
Melanie’s father, Mr. Byron Paige, was a colonel under general Douglas MacAthur on the Chief Joint Staff in the same office; her mother was Mary Talbot.
Melanie attended Seattle University and worked hard to earn a law degree. She also held three additional degrees in Spanish, French, and Tibetan languages.
Melanie completed school and moved from Seattle to Okanogan County. She worked her entire career as a prosecuting attorney for Okanogan County as well as for the Indian Colville Confederated Tribes. Melanie retired and lived out the rest of her life with her beloved husband, Marvin Kay Millard.
Melanie had many hobbies in life including reading, traveling, and being a stage singer in the Gilbert and Sullivan Productions. Melanie loved to sing, but her biggest love in her life was her family.
