Mary Draper-Lagos, 101, of Pocatello, Idaho was welcomed home peacefully by the Lord and the love of her life, James (Jim) Lagos, on September 9, 2020, surrounded by family.
She lived a very long, full life and was well known around Pocatello. Most people that didn't know her personally, knew her by seeing her drive around in her Gold, 1970 Buick Skylark. She was approached by many young men wanting to purchase her car. That car was her baby! Cruising down the road and bargain shopping was her outlet. Those that did know her personally raved about her homemade pies and famous carrot cake. She was an excellent baker and homemaker.
Mary had many hobbies, but her favorite hobby was golf. She would sneak out alone and go play 9 holes almost every evening. Her nickname on the course was down-the-middle Mary and it was true! She also walked two miles a day, come rain or shine, to keep up with her health and she was a frequent visitor at the local assisted living facilities. She loved cheering people up and making everyone feel special and loved. This was her most valued quality. She was a generous and genuine soul and as funny as they come.
Jim and Mary were married for 75 years, when he passed in 2018. Together they had five children, seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children; James J. (Judy) Lagos, Michelle (Andy) Kordopatis and Connie Thompson; six grandchildren; her great-grandchildren and sister, Faye Mirabella. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lagos; two sons, Jerry Peterson and Steven Lagos; her grandson Scott Lagos; and her brother and 5 sisters.
A special thank you to Heritage Home Health and Hospice, The Gables Assisted Living Facility and to the Manning-Wheatley Funeral Home for their compassion and professionalism.
Per Mary's wishes, a small family service will be held on September 26th at 10 AM at the Mountain View Cemetery.
