Mary Ellen Jenkins

Pocatello- Mary Ellen Jenkins, 87, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011 at an assisted living center. She was born May 28, 1923 in Marysville, Idaho, the daughter of Nels and Ethyl Byrley Nelson. She attended schools in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

She married Lyle Carson in Rigby, Idaho They were later divorced. She married LeRoy Crawford Jenkins on Dec. 18, 1954 in Pocatello, Idaho. She moved to Pocatello after her marriage to LeRoy "Jenks" Jenkins. LeRoy passed away in July 1983.

She lived in Island Park after LeRoy passed as she truly loved the Island Park area. She like reading, bowling, crafts, such as embroidering, crocheting, yard work and ceramics. She really enjoyed fishing. She always loved the holidays especially Christmas and Easter. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Lyle (Glenda) Carson, Pocatello, Idaho; daughter, Mary (Gail) Ruddell, Ogden, Utah. stepson, Harley Jenkins, Pocatello, Idaho; 3 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 sisters, 2 brothers, 1 granddaughter, 1 step daughter Paula Moore.

Celebration of Life services will be held Friday, March 11, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N.12th Ave. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Arimo, Idaho Cemetery following services. Arrangement are under the care of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel.
