Pocatello- Marlene Lee Parker, 65, passed away early Tuesday morning, October 25, 2011 at Portneuf Medical Center following an illness.

She was born April 23, 1946, the daughter of Arthur LLoyd and Mary Jeanette Steffenhagen Parker in Minneapolis,Minnesota.

She moved to Idaho when she was 3 years old. She lived in Shelly, Idaho where she attended schools. She then moved to Blackfoot, Idaho where she graduated from Blackfoot High School.

She graduated from the School of Cosmetology at Idaho Beauty Academy and worked as a beautician for a while.

She worked as a cook at several different facilities including Bingham Memorial Hospital, Bannock Memorial Hospital, Hillcrest Haven, and Highland Hills Assisted Living. She also had a day care in her home for several years.

She followed the local bands of Southwest Idaho on the weekends with her friends. She liked camping and being outdoors. She had a great loved for animals. She was a member of the L.D.S. Church. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family .

Marlene family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Rahim at the Idaho Kidney Center and all the doctors, nurses and staff at Portneuf Medical Center and Pocatello Rehab Center and many others that attended Marlene.

She is survived by two sons, Steven L. Parker, Boise, Idaho; Kasey N. Anderson, Pocatello, Idaho; two daughters, Melissa (James) Fagnant, Pocatello, Idaho; Jessica (Ben) Jacobs, Pocatello, Idaho; six grandchildren, Hayden James Parker, Ivan Fagnant, Franklin Fagnant, Tamrielle Jacobs, Elijah Jacobs, Alexia Jacobs; three sisters, Barbara (Gordon) Hardin, Blackfoot, Idaho; Carol (Bill) Hayball, Chubbuck, Idaho; Nancy Anderson, Pocatello, Idaho.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, a brother, and Steven's father, James.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Alameda 9th Ward Chapel (149 Lakeview Dr.) with Bishop Richard Burgoyne, of the Alameda 9th Ward Officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12 Noon to 12:45 p.m. at the church prior to services.

Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Shelly, Idaho. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the family.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave.
