Mark Shayne Carson

Mark Shayne Carson, age 55, died November 30, 2017 of an apparent heart attack.  He was born on September 16, 1962 in Pocatello to Lyle and Glenda Carson.

He lived in Pocatello most of his growing up years and graduated form Highland High School in 1980 where he was active in band.  He played the saxophone and bagpipes and was drum major his junior and senior years and also earned the John Phillip Sousa Music Award.  He enrolled at U of I for a semester and eventually returned to Pocatello.  He worked as an electrical apprentice for a year and finally gave in to the call of the sea and joined the Navy where he served for 12 years.  He served on the USS Ranger during Desert Storm. He went to naval school to be an ocular tech and received a letter of commendation for being the top of his class.  He was honorably discharged in 2000.

In June of 1991 he married Jennifer Burlage.  This union ended in divorce, but Jennifer has remained a good friend of the family.  He married Heather DeBusk in August 1999.  They had two sons: Tyler and Alex.  This union also ended in divorce.  At Heathers urging Mark went back to school and earned his BS in economics.  He then applied to and was accepted to pharmacy school.  He graduated in 2009 with his Doctor of Pharmacy.  He went on to certify as a nuclear pharmacist.

Mark is survived by his parents, his sister: Tamilyn Carson, his sons: Tyler and Alex, Alex’s Companion: Brittney Sigman, his grandson; Zayne and his faith dog; Joey.  Mark, We love and miss you dearly.  Rest in Peace.

The family will greet friends and family on Saturday December 16, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave. to be followed by graveside Military Rites at 2:00 pm at Mountainview Cemetery section 51 West Row 17.  In Lieu of flowers donation may be made to the Pocatello Animal Shelter in Marks name.
