Malin O. Walker

I am heartbroken to announce the death of our father Malin O Walker, 79, passed away peacefully in his home March, 31st 2024 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Newport, Washington on January 25th 1945 to Alva Alonzo Walker and Lela Dorothea Hansen. He was raised in Priest River. His family moved to Pocatello in 1959. He attended Pocatello high School and Idaho State University. He then married Joan Lee Boren together they created Wayne B Walker and Malinda K Walker.

Malin was a conductor brakeman for the Union Pacific railroad. He loved the outdoors where he felt closest to God and golfed on some very prestigious courses. He taught his children what they had to say was important because they were important. He didn't believe people lied or were false because he wasn't, and was always there to lend a helping hand even to strangers. He was truly a kind and loving man that never lost his sense of humor up to his last breath. All he ever wanted was for everyone to be happy and tried to get everyone there. He always found the balance between family friends and responsibility. He would travel quite a bit to visit family. He always made time for his dogs and made it a daily ritual to take Murphy to Bartsfield to run and play. Some people wanted to come back as one of malin's dogs so they can get the treatment he gave them. He also love to fish. Malin had one wish that people would love one another and not hurt each other. He later retired from the Union Pacific railroad.

He is survived by his sister Althea Walker Kruse, his children Wayne B Walker, Malinda K Walker his grandchildren Jace M kirkham, Zane C Holcomb last but not least Murphy Walker his 140 lb lap dog.

He is preceded in death by his wife Joan Lee Boren, his parents Alva Alonzo Walker, Lela Dorothea Hansen his siblings William Dwayne Walker, Alton J Walker, Dolores Anne Huelleman.
