Lyle Norman Jones

On October 5, 2007 Lyle N. Jones,82, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, at Care Source in SLC. He was born 1925 in Egin, Idaho to Norman and Alta Jones.

He was the first of two sons and one daughter. His family operated a saw mill in Fremont County, where he worked until drafted into the U.S armed forces, during WWII. Serving in the European Theatre with the 9th Infantry Division he was wounded and earned the Combat Infantry Badge.

After returning, he married Norma Hanks. They had two children, Vicki and Keith. Later he remarried June Pyper and also raised her two sons Rick and Gary Kirkham. Initially hiring out with UPRR Motor Freight in Utah, and then transferring to Pocatello from where he retired 1989.

He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and hunting since youth. His favorite pastime was attending youth sporting events as a spectator, supporter of his grandchildren. Rarely missing a game. Concern for family and generosity were his priorities. We love and will miss him tremendously.

Proceeded in death by his brother Glen H. Jones. Survived by sister Darline Clark, also including Grandsons Jacob E. Jones, Jayson Peabody, Adam Peabody. Grandaughters Amber Laddusaw, Rieley Jones.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday 1:00 p.m. October 9th at Manning Wheatley Funeral Chapel. 510 N. 12th Pocatello. The family will receive friends on Tuesday 1 hour prior to services.

Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, with military rites provided by the Pocatello Veterans Honor Guard.
