Louise Harr Romriell Ward, 96, of Pocatello passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at the Ridge Wind Senior Living Center. She was born in Pocatello, Idaho on March 5, 1918.

She was the daughter of Myritie Olive Duncan and William Louis Harr. Hazel Truhot assisted in her birth. The doctor was Dr. Castle and a bit late.

Pocatello back then was a town of sagebrush, Indians, and the railroad. They lived on the 700 block of North 12th. Her father was an excellent carpenter and built a new house at 713 North 13th and is still there. She went to school at Washington School, then to Franklin Jr. High and then to Pocatello High School.

She married Elmer E. Rommiell, May 23, 1935, a farm boy from McCammon, Idaho and they were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on May 23, 1952.

Louise was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on August 2, 1937. They lived in a cabin on a hill with two rooms, no toilet, no running water, and no electricity. After the first child was born, Lynn, she moved to Downey Idaho and Elmer worked for State Highway Dept.

While living in Downey, Idaho, Eloise was born in Pocatello, at St. Anthony Hospital. They moved back to the farm to work with Elmers' father. Elmer later got a a job on the railroad, but was later layed off the railroad. They moved to Tyhee, Idaho to work for a farmer.

Janet and Dale were born while living in Tyhee. Janet passed away when she was 5 months old.

Because of special people in Tyhee, they became very active in the church. Among her church service, she was Primary President, Young Woman's President, and Relief Society President.

She married Floyd Ward on July 15, 2000. Floyd passed away in 2013. A special thank you to the Ward Family and Ridge Wind Senior Living Center.

She is survived by Lynn (Jean) Romriell, Pocatello, Idaho; Eloise Hobson, Portland, Oregon; Dale (Laurel) Romriell, Pocatello, Idaho; a sister, Reba Ranstrom, Rupert, Idaho; 8 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer E. Romriell on Nov. 9, 1990; a daughter, Janet Romriell; son-in-law, Phil Hobson.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Tyhee Stake Center with Bishop Wade Egan officiating.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave. and on Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel.
