Linda Rose Girse

Linda Rose Girse Pocatello - Linda Rose Girse, 55, of Pocatello, passed away early Saturday, January 19, 2008 at her home following an apparent heart attack. She was born August 22, 1952, in St. Louis, Missouri, a daughter of Tom and Bernice Podorski.

She attended elementary school in St. Louis and graduated from high school in St. Louis. On August 16, 1974, she married Robert Donald Girse in Kirkwood, Missouri. After their marriage, they lived in various places as Robert was completing his masters degree and his Phd.. They moved to Pocatello in 1981 when Robert was hired as a math professor at Idaho State University. Robert passed away March 17, 1986. Linda was active in the Boy Scouts and served as a Den Mother for many years. She also served on the Scout Commission. She enjoyed various crafts.

Survivors include: her mother, Bernice Podorski, St. Louis, Missouri; 2 sons, Robert D. Girse, Pocatello; Derek S. (Caresa) Girse, Pocatello, 3 brothers, Tom Podorski, Dan Podorski, Joe Podorski, all of St. Louis, Missouri; a sister, Janet Cruikshank, St. Louis, Missouri; 3 grandchildren, Derek Jr., Zander and Deon. She was preceded in death by her father and husband.

Funeral services will be held today Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave. The family will meet with friends for one prior to services. Interment will be Mountainview Cemetery.
