Gladys LaRae Tripp, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025, at the age of 93, at her home in Pocatello, Idaho, surrounded by her loving family.
LaRae was born on February 2, 1931, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Joseph Lloyd Brower and Hannah Myrtle Blair. She lived a life filled with love, resilience, and devotion to her family and community.
On December 31, 1954, LaRae married the love of her life, Bob Gene Tripp, in Pocatello, Idaho. They were married for nearly 60 years before Bob’s passing. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared countless cherished memories.
LaRae is survived by her six children: Reo Glenn Davis of Fairbanks, Alaska; Randall Lloyd (Colleen) Shelton-Davis of Pocatello, Idaho; Bob Gene (Julie) Tripp Jr. of Ellis, Idaho; Deborah Rae Davis (Larry) Lindquist of North Logan, Utah; Stephanie Kay Tripp (Michael) Millward of Pocatello, Idaho; and Heather Dawn Tripp (Chris) Parkinson of Kennewick, Washington. She also leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two sisters, two sons-in-law, two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Throughout her life, LaRae found joy in the simple pleasures—spending time with family, enjoying the beauty of nature, and sharing laughter and stories with friends. She loved gardening, sewing, crocheting, camping, square dancing, and many other activities. A devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, LaRae fulfilled many callings with faithful service and love for her community.
Her wisdom, kindness, and unwavering spirit brought light to all who knew her. LaRae’s love and guidance created a legacy of warmth and unity, reminding us of the importance of family, kindness, and enduring love.
She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, extended family, and countless friends. Her memory will remain forever in our hearts, and her impact on our lives will never be forgotten.
