Kim Boyce Jorgensen

Kim Kirsten Boyce Jorgensen

Kim was born on December 16, 1969, in Carson City, Nevada as the fourth child to Sherm and Nancy Boyce. Her mom fondly remembers the nurses bringing Kimmi to her in a little red stocking as a sweet December baby. Kim’s dad worked for the U.S. Forest Service, so her family lived in Orem, Utah; Pineville, Louisiana; and settled in Pocatello, Idaho, when Kim was 10 years old.

Kim graduated from Highland High School in Pocatello and went on to receive her Licensed Practical Nursing degree from Idaho State University. She served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Ohio Columbus Mission. In 1994, she married Kim Neils Jorgensen in the Idaho Falls Temple. They were blessed with three sons, Zachary Kim (24), Jorrien Ryan (18), and Carter Christian (8).

Kimmi was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 17 and faced many trials throughout her life. She stayed so positive through all her illnesses and rarely complained; instead she showed concern and love for others. She loved her work as a nurse. She provided patient care as a home health nurse and most recently worked for Pocatello School District #25 as a school nurse. She loved caring for “her” kids and found great happiness in her work.

She loved traveling with her family. She loved camping, beaches, sunshine, and especially trips to Hawaii. Kimmi was a genuine soul with a pure heart. She loved all people without judgement. She had a soft spot for babies and dogs. Kimmi could always be found snuggling newborns. She was forgiving and was an example to her family in patience and love. A family member said, “Kim was like a breath of fresh air.” She was full of light and always ready to listen and give a hug. Kim had the most infectious laugh and kept us all entertained. Kim touched many lives and will be missed by those who know and love her.

Kimmi is survived by her husband, Kim, and their three sons; her mother, Nancy Boyce; brothers Paul Boyce and Scott (Teresa) Boyce; sisters Jan (Randy) Thomas and Carrie (Kevin) Allen. She is preceded in death by her father, Sherm Boyce.

We are thankful to know that Kim lives on and she is free from the physical ailments her body faced in this life. We are so grateful for joyous reunions on the other side.

Kim‘s funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 5th, at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ at 4600 Victory Ave, Chubbuck, Idaho, 83202. There will be a viewing before the service at 10:00 a.m.
