Katherine L. Batton

Pocatello - Katherine L. McCausey Batton, 55, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 12, 2011 following a long battle with ovarian cancer.

She was born on February 22, 1956 and raised in Ashton, Idaho by Dallas and Donna McCausey. She graduated from North Fremont High School in 1974.

She was blessed with 3 wonderful children which she enjoyed raising. Shortly after becoming a single parent she was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. She fought her battle courageously while raising 3 children as a single mother. She devoted everything she had to her children - trying to provide them with everything children should have. She loved taking her kids fishing on Memorial Day weekend with extended family.

When she was blessed with grandchildren she continued to devote her time and love to them. She loved watching them grow and enjoyed attending anything they participated in. As her health declined and she was unable to go, she insisted on hearing them tell her all about it. Many sleepovers included a stop at grandmas just to say hello.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Kevin (Melonie) McCausey, Orvena McCausey, and Jason McCausey; grandchildren, Cortney McCausey, Mathew McCausey, Cody McCausey, and Sierra Nixon; father, Dallas McCausey; brother, Mike McCausey, Wayne (Hannah) McCausey, and Robert (Debbie) McCausey; and numerous aunt, uncles, nieces, and nephews. She is rejoined with her mother, Donna McCausey; and her grandmothers, Gertrude McCausey, and Reva Whitmore.

Services will be held at the Zion Lutheran Church on Main Street in Ashton, Idaho on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 11:00 am.

Arrangements are under the direction of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel.
