Our dear mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, Karen Harsh, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 21, 2022.
She was born March 21, 1939, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Ray William Kesler and Helen Verna Christensen. She was the eldest of five children.
Karen's first marriage was her high school sweetheart Douglas Wayne Johnson, April 28, 1955. They had four children together. Her second marriage was to Arthur Frey, July 26, 1967 in Idaho Falls. This union included a large extended, loving family with whom we had a lot of fun adventures with. They later divorced. On November 19, 1977 mom married James Edward Harsh who preceded her in death, June 6, 1987.
She spent the next 35 years as a very independent, reliable, kind and loving person to her family and friends. Mother was a wonderful seamstress and cook. She enjoyed reading, working in her yard, playing games, doing puzzles and being with her family.
Karen is survived by her children: Joni (Richard) Tucker, Douglas Kirk (Sharon) Johnson, Kathy (Brent) Beckstead, Steven (Teri) Johnson; Jim's children: Jaime (Shane) Lish, Quinn (Cheri) Harsh, Kelly Harsh and Kerry Harsh; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Kathy (Larry) Housley; Cheryl Moss; Brenda (Jay) Johnson and Brent Kesler.
