Joy was born on her father's 34th birthday, December 30, 1933, in Blackfoot, Idaho to Chester and Sara Elmina Neeser Loveland. Her family lived in Blackfoot until 1947 when they moved to Chubbuck, Idaho and built a red brick home on the corner of Chubbuck and Hawthorne Roads.

Joy attended Elementary School and Junior High in Blackfoot. She attended Pocatello High School and played on the girls' basketball team. She lettered with the Girls' Athletic Association and was active in city softball and swimming. She was the queen of the Senior Ball. Joy graduated in 1952. She attended BYU for a short time, then attended ISU, participating on the basketball team. She married John B. McNabb on September 29, 1955 in the Logan LDS Temple.

Joy is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in Young Womens, Scouting, Relief Society, Sunday School, and wherever she was needed. She graduated from the institute program at ISU and enjoyed her associations there. She had a firm testimony of the gospel.

Joy liked to work. At an early age she had a newspaper route. She helped her father with his sheep operation. In her early married life, the family had milk cows and she delivered milk in10-gallon cans to the Gilbert Ranch in Inkom for pick up. She drove a grain truck during harvest and fed workers. She loved to can fruit and enjoyed making candy and pies. She loved to be outside riding horses, riding a bike, gardening, helping with 4-H animals, and making her yard attractive.

Joy is survived by three sons and their wives: John C. and Karen McNabb (Inkom), William (Bill) B. and Lisa McNabb (Pocatello), Michael R. and Bev McNabb (Inkom). She has 24 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Joy was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Gloria, who died at birth. Joy has a brother, Karl C. (Peggy) Loveland of Fort Hall, and a sister, Karleen (Dean) Gunnell of Soda Springs.

The family expresses deep appreciation to all who have cared so lovingly for our mother for the past number of years.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the Inkom L.D.S. Ward Chapel with Bishop John C. McNabb of the Rapid Creek Ward officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave. and on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Inkom Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel.
