Blackfoot - Jesse Harrison Coffey, 65, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away early Thursday, June 12, 2008 at his home following an illness. He was born December 13, 1942 in Aberdeen, Idaho, a son of Joseph B. and Melba Anderson Coffey. As a young man ,he attended schools in Monteview and Mud Lake, Idaho and graduated from West Jefferson High School. He joined the U.S. Air Force where he received training as an aircraft mechanic.
His marriages to Donna, Lloydiene and Aloha all ended in divorce. He worked in Pocatello at the AV Center as a mechanic for several years. He then worked as a welder at the Bucyrus Erie plant in Pocatello. His last employment was with Liggett Industries in Pocatello. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the L.D.S. Church.
Survivors include: his step-mother, Shirley Coffey, Blackfoot, Idaho; a son, J.D. (Rachael) Johnston, Pocatello, Idaho; a daughter, Yvonne (Monty) Cardona, Blackfoot, Idaho; 5 brothers, Edwin (Maxine) Coffey, Afton, Wyoming; Blaine (Virginia) Coffey, Spokane, WA.; Duane (Terry) Coffey, Yakima, WA.; Lane (Trena) Coffey and Scott (Patty) Coffey both of Blackfoot, Idaho; a sister Bonna Hunsaker, Salt Lake City, Utah; 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Melba Coffey, father, Joseph Coffey, 2 brothers, Joe Coffey and Sherm Coffey, and an infant sister.
Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at 12 noon at the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery with his brother Blaine Coffey, officiating. Military rites will be provided by the American Legion Stewart Hoover Post #23. The family will receive friends on Monday evening June 16, 2008 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave. in Pocatello. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel.
