Gerald William Porter

Gerald W. "Butch" Porter Pocatello - Gerald William "Butch" Porter, 57, of Pocatello, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at his home following an illness.

He was born December 12, 1950 in Farmington, Maine a son of William and Joan Marie Williams Porter.

Butch was a mechanic for the City of Pocatello for many years and later a brakeman in an automotive shop in Las Vegas, Nevada. He returned to Pocatello when he became ill. He loved to hunt, fish and be in the outdoors.

He is survived by his Dad, Dale (Florence) Kidney, Rigby, Idaho; sisters, Eva (Steve) Koch, Patricia (Gary) Oneida, both of Pocatello; brothers, Fred (Helen) Kidney, Spokane, WA.; Allen Kidney, Tacoma, WA.; daughters, Jennifer, Gerri, Candy, Marci and Cami, step-sons, Sammy (Casey) Casper, Jason (Venessa) Casper; longtime friend, Kathy Casper along with many nieces, nephews and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother Joan Kidney and his grandparents.

There will be a memorial gathering to celebrate Butch's life for family and friends on Monday, May 5, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. at his sister Eva's home at 12609 N. Neptune Northwest of Pocatello. Arrangements are under the direction of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave.
