George Shappart

Salt Lake City,Utah- George L. Shappart, 97, passed away Tuesday March 31, 2009 at a care center in Salt Lake city, Utah.

He was born Aug. 7, 1911 in Winona, Washington, the son of George T. and Minnie Lehrbas Shappart. In his early years, he lived in the Marsh Creek Area South of Inkom. He attened schools in Inkom, Idaho.

He married Vera Sant on May 9, 1936 in Pocatello, Idaho. They were married 59 years. Vera passed away in July of 1995. He farmed in the Treasureton, Idaho area. He then worked for the UPFE in Pocatello for 37 years and 9 months. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his family and friends.

He is survived by son, Larry (Sharyn) Shappart, South Jordon, Utah; daughter, Karen (Jack) Suechting, Pocatello, Idaho; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Marion Shappart, Pocatello, Idaho.

The family will receive friends on Saturday May 9, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at his daughter's home Karen (Jack) Suechting, 2798 Kootenai, Pocatello. Following the family and friends gathering, memorial graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. at Treasureton Idaho Cemetery.
