Pocatello - George Edward Newton ,91, passed away on November 26, 2008 after being ill for several years, at the Idaho State Veterans Home.
He was born on March 31, 1917 in Trenton, Missouri to Richard C. Newton and Addie MaeGeorge Newton. He attended schools here in Pocatello. 1st grade thru 6th grade he attended Jefferson Elementary, 7th grade thru 8th grade he attended Irving Jr. High, 9th grade thru 12th grade he attended Pocatello High School and then attended 2 years at Idaho State Votech.
George married Patricia A. Adams Sept. 2 1949. They have been married for 58 years. They had two daughters Alice Ann, and Betty Jean, and four Grandsons. Alice is married to Steve Crockett and has two sons Steven (Kathy) Crockett and Justin Crockett. Betty Kutch has two sons Zach (Sarah) Kutch and Derrick Kutch.
He was employed by Coca Cola, Swift and Co., Western Airlines, and retired from Idaho Power Co. after 31 years. He had many hobbies and part time jobs. He was always helping someone else and was glad to do so. As a family they all 4 went on trips every year, each taking a turn picking a place to go see.
At his request there will be only family graveside services. Graveside services will be on Tuesday December 2, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Restlawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Steve Yadon officiating. Military Rites will be provided by the Pocatello Veteran Honor Guard.
We wish to thank everyone for all the help we have received and will continue to receive.
