Gary Andrew Evans

Gary Andrew Evans, 74 passed away unexpectedly on Thursday October 24, 2022. Gary was born February 16, 1948 in Pocatello Idaho to Ned and Ileana Evans. He graduated from Pocatello High School in May 1966.

After high school, Gary enlisted in the US Air Force where he was a helicopter door gunner during The Vietnam War.

Gary returned to Pocatello, where he worked as a mechanic and welder. Gary enjoyed hunting and he competed in many shooting competitions. He was the Idaho State Champion Unlimited Shooter in July 1980.
In 1985, Gary met the only women that was patient and strong enough to put up with him, Suzanne Laws at Cooper's Automotive. They were married in November 1988 and were married until Suzanne's passing in March 1994.
Gary retired and bought himself a beautiful quiet piece of property which he was very proud of. He enjoyed taking care of his yard and feeding the wildlife that would roam through his property. Gary enjoyed working with his hands on all types of motors and mechanical projects and was driven by purpose regardless the size of the project with uncanny meticulousness.
Gary is survived by his children; Mindie Shepard, Stephanie (Rick ) Heffner, Jennifer (Juan) Elizarraras, BJ (Alicia) Jones. Three sisters; Sheryl (Robert) Baker, Bonnie (Bruce) Waldrum and Darla Fries and his brother AJ (Randee) Evans. Gary has 12 grandchildren.
