Flava Pauline Devore, 88, passed away Friday, October 6, 2017. Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 10, 2017 from 6-8 pm at Manning Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave, Pocatello Idaho 83201. Funeral services will be on Wednesday October 11, 2017 at 11 am at the Manning Wheatley Funeral Chapel with a viewing for one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow at the Mountain View Cemetery, Pocatello, Idaho.
Pauline was born in Columbus, Kansas on October 3, 1929 to Mr. and Mrs. Homer Baird. She attended Schools in Lawton Kansas and was married to Ernest Devore. They later moved to American Falls, Idaho. Pauline raised 7 wonderful children: Leroy, Ron, Everett, Kenneth, Joyce, JoAnn, and Connie. Pauline has a younger sister, Treva Grunden who lives in Lawton, KS. Proceeding before Pauline were other brothers and sisters: Edwin, Leon, Max, Ireta, and Olive. Pauline is survived by 6 children and their spouses. She also has many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
She was known for her loving spirit of gardening, cooking, and making the best plum jam ever! She also worked in potato processing at Lamb-Weston and Basic American in Shelley, ID. In her later years, she decided to complete her education obtaining her GED and high-school equivalency. Pauline often talked about the poem on her blanket “Footprints in the Sand”. Pauline accepted Jesus into her heart. This gave her hope and peace in her final days. She passed away in Caring Hearts, October 6, 2017 shortly after her 88th birthday to go be in her eternal home with her Lord.
