Fern Prescott Rust

Chubbuck - Fern Prescott Rust, 87, passed away June 2, 2008, at Portneuf Medical Center surrounded by her loving family members.

She was born January 5, 1921, in Sharon, Idaho, to Clifford Heber Prescott and Hannah Margaret Hansen Prescott. She spent her early years in Sharon, Idaho, before moving to Pocatello when she was 13 yrs old. She attended Pocatello schools and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Fern worked as a bookkeeper for many years and retired from the American Red Cross. She was a foster grandparent in the Head Start Foster Grandparent Program and also a CNA. She loved gardening, being with her family and helping children.

Fern married Howard E. Rust on May 15, 1937, and they had four children, Carolyn, Joan, Keith, and William. They were later divorced. She is survived by daughters, Carolyn Morrison, Eagle, Idaho, and Joan Rodriguez, Pocatello, Idaho; sisters, Vilda Howell, Pocatello, Idaho; Joyce Tolman, Glendale, Arizona; brother, Ray (Judy) Prescott, Afton Wyoming; sister-in-law, Arleene Prescott, Goshen, Idaho; grandchildren, John (Sandra) Kington, Lori Kington, Geri (Sal) Vialpando, Kevin (Terry) Wright, Catherine (Gene) Letner, Dan (Rayette) Wright, Amy (Tom) Chandler, Ginger Pearson, and Chet (Lois) Rust; 18 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Keith Rust and William Rust; and three brothers, Albert Prescott, Robert Prescott and Ellis Prescott.

There will be no funeral services as her body has been donated to the ISU Anatomical Donation Program. Arrangements were made under the direction of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel.
