McCammon-Eric Roger Lillegaard, 63, of McCammon was called home on an eternal mission, December 28, 2010 surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born September 22, 1947 in Lemmon, South Dakota, the son of Clarence B. and Wilma Elizabeth Kile Lillegaard.
He attended schools in Lemmon, South Dakota, and later received his GED while serving in the U.S. Navy. He served in the United States Navy including a tour in Vietnam.
He married Jeannie Brown on April 24, 1971 in Blackfoot, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized January 1972 in the Oakland California L.D.S. Temple.
He was self employed trucker for many years. He retired in about 2006 and moved back to Lemmon,South Dakota. He moved to McCammon for health reasons taking radiation treatments at the Huntsman Cancer Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. He liked fishing, bowling, and woodworking.
He was always a happy person and would make people laugh even when he was suffering from cancer. He was a member of the L.D.S. Church.
He is survived by his loving wife Jeannie Lillegaard, McCammon, Idaho; one son, David (Elizabeth) Lillegaard, Portland, Oregon; one brother, Vernon L. Lillegaard, Bismark, North Dakota; one sister, Denise Elaine Lillegaard, McCammon, Idaho; grandson, Robert Walker Lillegaard , McCammon , Idaho; niece and nephews, Michelle & Dennis Poisel, Brandon & Lyndsey Lillegaard; Adam Lillegaard;
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Michael Lillegaard; great niece, Stephanie Vaughan.
Military Graveside services will be held Monday, January 3, 2011 at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery ( 17111 South Camp William Road, Bluffdale, Utah at 2:00 p.m. Graveside services are under the care of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave.
