Ellen Violet Zaccardi

Pocatello-Ellen Violet Zaccardi loving mother, grandmother & friend passed away August 24, 2011 at a local care facility at the age of 97.

Ellen was born on the 9th day of August 1914 in Pocatello, Idaho, the daughter of Charles and Josephine Carlson. She was the 4th of 8 children.

Ellen attended schools in Pocatello and graduated from Poky High. She worked for a short time for Mountain Bell and also modeled clothing for Fargo's with her sister. She fell in love with Carmie Zaccardi and they were married August 21, 1937 in Pocatello, Idaho. They together raised her younger siblings after the early passing of her parents, while helping Carmie start a grocery business. Ellen then received her real estate license and became the second woman realtor in Pocatello. She continued selling real estate until she retired.

After raising her siblings, she became the proud parent of 2 sons, Jeff (Cathy) Zaccardi Bellvue, Idaho; Greg (Tracy) Zaccardi Pocatello; 2 grandchildren Nick (Margie) Zaccardi & Kirsten Zaccardi both of Pocatello; 2 great grandson, Jaxon Neiko Zaccardi and Maxamus Carmie Zaccardi due to arrive in December. Her youngest sister, Phyllis Sullivan, resides in San Diego.

She is preceded in death by her husband Carmie Zaccardi; her parents; 3 sisters,Edith,Eva and Agnes; her 3 brothers, Irv, Chick, and Wes.

Ellen loved working in her yard and flower gardens. We always found them beautiful and in immaculate order. She also loved dabbling in the stock market.

Special thanks to all the loving care Ellen received by the girls at Ashley Manor and also Creekside Hospice. Special thanks to Tracy Cassia, Ellen's best friends for always being there. We will miss you Mom and Grandma.

As per Ellen's wishes there will be no service. Arrangements are under the care of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave.
