Earl Frederick Nevins Jr passed away on Sunday June 5th 2016 at his home. Earl was born on August 27, 1946 in Rock Island Illinois to Earl F Nevins and Rita Rae Nevins.
Earl enlisted in the US Air Force serving 4 years in Vietnam. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force he worked for Roger Wegner Truck Line then he bought a Freight liner and worked heavy long haul from coast to coast for International Transport out of Rochester Minnesota Earl was the youngest owner operator to achieve one million miles in a years time. Earl worked for Hultchers Services as a mechanic on train derailments.
Earl owned the Copper Penney Bar located in downtown Pocatello for a time, the Rim Rock Bar and worked locally for Cate Equipment, Don Decker Repair Intermountain Marine
Earl was well known as the owner of Boat Works 3950 S 5th Ave in Pocatello from 1991to May 2016. We will miss seeing him motor out of Seagull Bay Yacht Club to his favorite fishing spot on American Falls res in his 25’ Sea Ray, “Earl’s Pearl”.
Earl is survived by his wife Gina Nevins, daughters Elizabeth, Valaree, and Susan, his father, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, many grand children and 1 great grand child, step-son Brandon (Shelly) Love and many many friends. He was preceeded in death by his mother and best friend Rita Rae Nevins and brother in law Gary Shaw.
In honor of his memory, please join us in a celebration of Earls life on Saturday June 11th 2016 at 6:00 PM at The Red Pony Bar in Inkom, ID.
