Pocatello- Donna Fern Read Gardner, 82, of Pocatello passed away Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010 at Portneuf Medical Center.

She was born January 26, 1928 the daughter of LeGrand and Fern Bullock Read. She attended schools in Pocatello.

She married Harry "Blackie" Gardner on Feb. 7, 1944 in Pocatello, Idaho. Blackie passed away April 5, 1988.

Donna enjoyed bowling and was very active in Bowling Leagues in Pocatello. She was one of the top bowlers in Pocatello for several years. She enjoyed fishing and going on fishing trips with her husband. She was an excellent seamstress and sewed and made many clothes for many people in the area. She enjoyed trips to Yellowstone Park, Hebdon Lake, and other places in Idaho. She was a very social person. She took pride in keeping her self up and she walked everyday to help her self with the passing of her husband. She was a member of the L.D.S. Church.

She is survived by her two sons, Michael Gardner, Anaconda, Montana; Lynn (Kay) Gardner, Lynden, Washington; two brothers, Jim Read, Pocatello, Idaho; Dale (Helen) Read, Ogden, Utah; one sister, Joyce (Jack) Hatch, Anaconda, Montana. 3 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave. with Bishop Richard S. Burgoyne of the Alameda 9th Ward officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
